From 2–3 months to 2–3 weeks by building a reporting team

I created Amplify-Now's reporting team, along with its process, standards and training. Report delivery fell by 60%, and the team now spans Australia, India and the USA.

  • −60%ticket-to-delivery time
  • 10people across 3 countries
  • 3high-value client churns prevented
  • 2enterprise contracts won with POCs
The delivery model I put in place

  2. Standard reportsreusable models and templates
  3. Defined workflowdev → test → production
  4. Coachingtraining material and mentoring for every team member

The problem

When I joined Amplify-Now in 2024, reporting was not a team or a discipline. A client report ticket took 2–3 months to deliver, and every report was built differently.

What I did

  • Created the Reporting team, responsible for Power BI reporting for clients and for the company’s own leadership.
  • Defined the working process: a standard intake, a dev → test → production workflow and clear QA expectations.
  • Built standard reports so the team reused proven models instead of starting from scratch.
  • Wrote the training materials and mentored and coached every member of the team.
  • Built operations, account-management and C-suite reports, plus the automations behind leadership reporting.
  • Grew the team to 10 people across Adelaide, Perth, New South Wales, India and the USA, and now run reporting for the company’s new India Centre of Excellence.

Outcome

  • Ticket-to-delivery time fell from 2–3 months to 2–3 weeks (−60%).
  • Tailored Power BI POCs and executive presentations helped win 2 major enterprise contracts and contributed to 7% year-over-year revenue growth.
  • Custom Power BI solutions prevented 3 high-value client churns.
  • Behind the scenes, I re-architected SQL Server (−40% storage cost, +50% OLAP/OLTP performance) and redesigned customer onboarding (−30% porting time, −25% operational cost).

This team and process were the foundation for the next step: company-wide AI enablement.
